My Mission Statement
I am a third year undergraduate student at Furman University with Communication Studies major and a Environmental Studies minor. I have a business minor from Villanova School of Business. I am interested in pursuing a career in the marketing field, specifically in social media.
I decided to start a travel blog in May, so I could record my adventures in Tanzania, East Africa. After my trip I took a course that touched on blogging, and how one can market ideas and messages through this type of social media.
For my digital communications media project I would like to explore how different businesses in Greenville, South Carolina are promoting a more active and healthy lifestyle through the use of social media. http://www.outsideingreenville.com is website that is encouraging Greenville residents to compete with other towns across the country to get Greenville to win the title of "Best Active Town 2013." Throughout the semester I will be documenting what Greenville residents are doing to stay active and win the title of "Best Active Town 2013."
